Believe that I will represent the Citizens of Conyers fairly and with integrity.
I believe in having a healthy and safe community where my children can play in the front yard without fear of danger.
I believe in financial growth through pruning.
I believe in the "Merryweather Effect."
I believe in a balance between value and quality.

The City of Conyers has submitted the 2017-2018 budget with over $900,000 allocated for then use of energy and power.
I have inspected several facilities lighting fixtures and identified that the city has transitioned from T12 florescent bulbs to T8 florescent bulbs. This was an energy savings of 25%.
It is time to perform a cost benefit analysis of transitioning to LED lighting while utilizing the rebates available on Georgia Power's website. This is an example of short term loss and long-term gain.
The Georgia International Horse Park is often perceived as the
most underused resource in the City of Conyers. We have a strong crew
of people running a great facility that needs revitalization.
We have had many successful events at the GIHP that specializes in horses and ranges beyond. If you haven’t been to the horse park lately, I would like to encourage you to visit. There are events booked every week including obstacle races, Caribbean Festival, horse competitions/shows/rodeos and bike races.
My goal is to maintain the facility as a reputable equestrian destination by addressing function (footings, etc.) then aesthetics. My second goal is to expanding events available so that the GIHP is booked closer to capacity.
The horse park needs to maintain its unique style. There was a recent request to pave a parking lot. I would advocate pavers over paving for multiple reasons. Pavers would allow drainage (an environmental perk), be available at a comparable price, and compliment the unique style much better than a bland sea of concrete.
I will solicit the biggest names and offer advertising lots to help pay for pavers and name lots after the sponsors. If the Braves can have a Lexis lot, then why can't we have a Carhart, Stetson, or a Tony Lama lot.
Another option presented for fundraising at the horse park is to sell placing collars on the street lamps with advertising banners.
I would like to see a benefit concert at the GIHP. There are many different ways to spend income from a benefit concert, but I would like to see the money spent to assist seniors with heating bills, develop a college scholarship program, develop a nonprofit business grant program, contribution to the arts, bullet proof vest fund, and/or add to an emergency fund.
Lastly, I hear a lot of concerns about the absence of fireworks at the horse park. On July 17th 2017, I had a very informative meeting with Jennifer Bexley regarding operations. She explained that during the July fourth week we have one of the largest quarter horse shows in the nation. When we had fireworks at the horse park, we were notified that the horses were being startled. In the name of good stewardship, it is not possible to hold a fireworks display which may injury the animals of our guest. If we entertain the idea of fireworks, they will have to be at a different location.
